Every year, thousands of families are devastated when a parent is struck with cancer. Treatment becomes a totally consuming process, and family members, particularly the children, have to adapt to a completely new existence. They often have to depend on family, friends, neighbors, or even strangers to assist in day-to-day living.
We Will Survive Cancer examines the needs of such families and steps in to assist; but to do so, they need donations of cash, services, equipment, and specialty items to make life slightly less all-consuming for both the cancer patients as well as their families. We know the patients have a better chance of a good recovery if they know their families are being taken care of.
If you are in the Washington DC Metro Area, please join my Style Goddesses and me this Wednesday, February 3 from 6pm-9pm at our sanctuary for a very special evening benefiting We Will Survive Cancer.
At this event you can meet Gayela Bynum, author and founder of We Will Survive Cancer, for a special book signing of her latest release, “Don’t Waste My Cancer,” dedicated to daughter-in-law Michelle Bynum, who lost her life to cancer. This inspirational book includes stories of Michelle along with many others affected by cancer, and tells how they courageously battled and survived this devastating disease. Steven Gaffney, the #1 leading authority in Honest Communication – himself a cancer survivor – will be there to share his story along with other guest survivors featured in the book. One-hundred percent of the book sales will go to We Will Survive Cancer. I hope to see you there. You can go to our FB page for more details.
Being a cancer survivor I would like to try and make it, but since I work way out by Dulles airport – getting home and getting Simba done in the snow and then out again – is a challenge, but I will try.
