If you have not had a chance to give our boutique a visit, I would like to extend an exclusive invitation for you to join us at tu-anh Boutique in Old Town Alexandria on Tuesday, December 2 for some holiday shopping benefiting We Will Survive Cancer, a nonprofit that provides support to families of cancer victims who lack the time, financial, or other resources to adequately address their needs. Over the years, I have lost family members, friends, and clients and also have seen their loved ones suffered due to lack of resources. I can’t think of a better cause to support this time of the year!
Come for a glass of sparkling or try our dark chocolate from Belgium. Or let me show you some holiday make-up tips from our organic cosmetic collection. We will also have free gift wrapping for purchases over $100. 15% of purchases for the evening will be donated to We Will Survive Cancer.
The event is free to attend, but space is limited and we do have a door concierge that if too crowded, he will not let you in. So we encourage you to rsvp-info@tu-anh.com.
We Will Survive Cancer [WWSC] was created as a result of the experiences of Michelle Bynum, a young Texas mother in her 30s whose doctor refused her requests to test for cancer after she identified the typical warning signs, e.g., lumps in her breast. After the birth of her baby and following his first birthday, she returned to her doctor with an enlarged lump. Her doctor reluctantly agreed to test her, the results being, not only did she have cancer, but that it had progressed to advanced Stage III. The ensuing five-and-a-half years were spent in painful treatment. On January 26, 2011, Michelle’s battle ended. She asked that her experience never be labeled as she lost her battle with cancer but rather that “Michelle passed the torch,” to the next warrior.
