This past weekend, I was honored to be invited by a former design student of mine, Tuyet Nhi Le, to be one of the judges for Miss Vietnam DC 2014 Pageant, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships for continuing education and mentoring through a “big sister little sister” program that connects young Vietnamese-American women to various community service projects in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area.
I was impressed with how well the event was organized and knowing that there are many young Vietnamese talents out there taking initiative to keep up with their roots and not forgetting their Vietnamese upbringing. The Ao Dai looked so amazing on all the contestants, too! Enjoy the photos from my iPhone below. For more professional photos by my father, Frank Nguyen, click here.
