Happy New Year! I hope you had a productive, powerfuI, and positive fresh start this past week. For 2014, I wish you a year of having your wants, wishes, and everything your heart desires come to life. For the past 4-5 years, I have jumpstarted the new year to the beautiful sunrise of Zihuatanejo Bay at La Casa Que Canta in Mexico with some friends very dear to me. But this year, I chose a very calm, quiet, introspective, peaceful, and loving path. I spent New Years in freezing winter Manhattan with my sister, her caring husband, and their 6-month old baby girl. We did drink a lot of champagne (my headache lasted until January 2nd. 🙂 The best part is that the first adorable thing I kissed in 2014 was my precious 6-month old niece! And she loved being smothered with kisses, smiles, and attention.
Every year, I come up with a short list of goals and resolutions which mostly revolves around being of service to others and inspiring them to live life to the fullest. However, my focus this year will be very different, much more internal rather than external. Other than keeping my clients happy with great service and producing dramatic results for them, life will be simple for me. Most of the time, I am the take charge type of person, the giver, the pleaser, or the problem solver for others – I feel that my love cup is a bit empty from all the giving and servicing as of this moment. So 2014 is the “me year”! I need to take some time to replenish and recharge my battery and fill my own love cup. In order to do so, I have come up with four drivers below that will be in my morning meditations and behind everything I do both professionally and personally. What are yours?
1. Listen to my heart. All my life, I have been such a people pleaser. My happiness was dependent upon making others happy and being of service to them. However, I tend to struggle in my mind about doing the right thing and putting others’ happiness before my own, even when my heart tells me not to, especially in my personal life. Perhaps it has to do with being the oldest girl in the family. This year is the year that I will work as a team player and a loving partner to heart. I will listen to her regardless of the circumstances and external influences. So be ready for a different tu-anh! 🙂
2. Trust my Intuition. There are countless times where my intuition tells me and warns me upfront not to go there in a situation, yet I refused to trust it and instead went along with what others were telling me. Looking back on certain situations, if I had listened to my gut instincts, I would not have wasted so much time and energy and saved a lot of heartache. So no more of that this year!
3. Continue to follow my dreams. My whole life, I have been told by friends and family and others that I am an idealist, a perfectionist, a crazy creative, an artist, a hopeless romantic, a dreamer, and much more. Some even advised me to come down from cloud nine and be more realistic. But you know, I have learned over the years that many of my dreams have come true because I really went after them and stay true to my vision. Yours can come true, too, if you believe in yourself and have the motivation to take action in making it happen. This area, I feel confident about and so I will continue to focus on my dream of having it all: Love, Happiness, Health, Prosperity, Spirituality, Friendships, Beauty, Luxury, Knowledge, Growth, EVERYTHING!!!!!!! And I welcome you to join me in this journey.
4. Put LOVE in everything I do. Lastly, at the end of the day, the only driver that is behind all my intentions and actions, what I live for and stand for is LOVE. This is the core of my being and what I am made of. I will continue to do what I love and be great at it and only surround myself with those whom I love. For I believe that love makes the world go round and if we inspire love in everyone, we would not have war, but instead peace and harmony. For 2014, I want you to love your life, love your work, love your family, love who you are with, love all living things…love everything that you have and love everything that you are! I will stamp the word LOVE in everything I do for I AM LOVE, you are love, we are LOVE! Feel the love!
Well, I hope you like my list – #4 is my favorite. Most importantly this year, I am focusing on filling my own love cup and falling in love with myself again. For I cannot fulfill my mission of sharing love with the world if my love cup in empty. What will be your motivators in 2014? Share please!
As always, I appreciate you embarking on this life journey with me.
I very much enjoyed reading this. Much of this is on my list of goals too. I will say that my aim for this year is to live by my values and use them as a motivation to manifest the life I want to live 🙂
Joe,
Thank you for your comment. That is wonderful that we share the same path this year. Keep me posted on your journey. Best wishes to an awesome 2014! Love, tu-anh
Hi tu-anh,

You are too kind, Joe! 🙂
