I used to think that when I travel, I can’t eat healthy. That is not the case any longer. This week, I am on a little work and play holiday in the Mediterranean and I have to say, it is so worth the long distance travel. The weather is gorgeous and AMAZING! But just because I am on holiday does not mean that I won’t be keeping up my healthy habits! After all, if you eat well, you will have energy to play and have fun all day long or work much more productively.
For me, the key to a wonderful day spent exploring, shopping, and relaxing on the beach in a foreign place is a big and healthy breakfast. Although breakfast is buffet style here with several delicious varieties tastefully displayed, I still stay focused on creating a similar meal to what I would fix for myself at home. That normally includes eggs and vegetables with fruits or plain yogurt with few carbs or none at all. It’s really all about balance and putting foods in your body that help prolong your life, not destroy it. And just because it is a buffet is no reason to stuff yourself with junk!
